NYC FOOTBALL CLUB ETIHAD PARK SOCCER STADIUM

The City of New York, in partnership with a team of developers and the New York City Football Club (NYCFC), has launched an ambitious initiative to build the city’s first dedicated soccer stadium in Willets Point, Queens. This transformative project aims to revitalize the historically underserved Willets Point area into a dynamic new neighborhood featuring a modern $780 million-dollar soccer stadium, affordable housing, retail establishments, and community amenities.

Etihad Park, the new 25,000-seat soccer stadium is set to open in 2027. The 23-acre development will unfold in two phases. Phase One encompasses 880 income-restricted housing units, 220 senior housing units, a 25-space parking garage, 22,000 square feet of retail space, 5,000 square feet for community facilities, and 30,000 square feet of open space. A new K–8 school, offering 650 seats and overseen by the School Construction Authority, is also part of this phase and is projected for completion by 2027.
