Chelsea Pier Celestial Mooring Barge Project

The Chelsea Piers Celestial Mooring Barge project at Pier 61 was about the rehabilitation of existing gangway support platform. The scope of work includes removal of exiting piles, transport of barge from fabrication yard to project site, preparation of project site to receive and support barge, anchorage of barge and connection to support piles, reinstall existing gangway and removal and replacement of existing timber fendering.

JOADEM Corporation performed special inspections and materials testing on this project, including Structural Steel – Welding, NDT – UT, Flood Zone Compliance, Deep Foundation Elements, and Final Inspection. The project agency is NYCEDC and the client is Persak & Wurmfeld, in New York, NY.
