RECONSTRUCTION OF EFFLUENT CHAMBER AT SPRING CREEK AUXILIARY WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PLANT (AWCPC)

The project involves the reconstruction of the effluent chamber at the Spring Creek Auxiliary Water Pollution Control Plant (AWPCP) located in Brooklyn. Specifically, the existing 1′-2″ concrete deck will be demolished in sections to facilitate the renovation process. To support the deck during demolition, Faresin towers with MASS25 header beams will be utilized. The removal of each concrete section will be executed using a Toyota FGZN20 forklift.

The primary scope of work for this project is focused on the reconstruction of the six effluent chambers at the Spring Creek AWPCP. JOADEM Corporation has been contracted by Nagan Construction to provide QC Special Inspections and Materials testing services. These services encompass various aspects of the project, including mechanical demolition of the existing concrete, installation of temporary bulkheads, and concrete beams. Furthermore, the scope of work also entails repairing surface cracks and spalls to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of the reconstructed effluent chambers.
